FIND THE MIND AND YOU WILL HAVE THE BODY
"Find the horse's mind and you have the body. Try and take the body without the mind and you have nothing. The secret to upper level work or even basic work is to get the horse to want to obey.
Aggression will never achieve this result. Only gentleness and kindness will and can make the horse want to be with you.
It is not the engagement of the rear legs which makes good dressage. It is the engagement of two minds; horse and human which brings success.
The horse knows how to engage its body and the human knows how to ask with kindness. This is a gift given in love and lightness and not some kind of pretense of leadership which uses force."
